Since 1998...

Our Connecting Links Adult Family Home has been home to six Forks residents who experience developmental challenges. Each of our residents have their own room and schedule customized to meet each individual’s needs. We strive to maintain a homey atmosphere by creating an all-inclusive, family-like environment.

A Day In Connecting Links...

Means breakfast served throughout the morning, depending on individual preference for time and, sometimes, menu. Some of our residents like to sleep later than others, and some are up at the crack of dawn. Showers and baths are also determined by choice, some prefer to do this in the morning, while others prefer the evening.

Lunch and dinner are usually served at the same time every day. Residents choose the foods for all the menus and have the opportunity to make as many choices for it as possible. As the day winds down, games and activities are left to personal choice.

Residents have busy schedules filled with things like attending job development activities, participating in local events, volunteering within our community, or helping shop for the home. A typical activity for residents is going outside for walks in nice weather, or just roaming the yard and grounds.

Several times a month, residents can take advantage of the beautiful scenery here by going on outings to one of the many stunning beaches or nature trails found in our surrounding area. They can also be seen “out on the town” enjoying local restaurants and businesses throughout the community, or in our agency’s kitchen or office, where they like to volunteer.
